If you plan to operate the boat yourself, you will need a valid boat operator’s license, appropriate to the type and size of the boat. This license must be recognized by the country where the charter takes place. In most cases, this means an international license (e.g. ICC – International Certificate of Competence ), along with a VHF radio certificate.
In case you do not have a license or do not want to worry about navigation, we can provide you with a professional skipper . He is trained to take care of the safety, navigation and management of the boat, while you enjoy yourself without worries.
The choice of boat depends on what type of experience you are looking for and who you are traveling with. If you are a lover of adventure, nature and real sailing, then a classic sailing boat ( sailing) boat ) is the perfect choice. It offers an authentic experience at sea, with the possibility of sailing with the wind, where navigation becomes part of the adventure.
Catamarans , on the other hand, are an excellent choice for families or groups of friends looking for comfort, stability and more space. With two hulls and a large deck, they offer greater privacy between cabins and are suitable for peaceful enjoyment of the bays and long stays at anchor.

Currently, all the ships we offer through KARPASAILING are rented as a whole – i.e. the entire ship is at your disposal, regardless of how many passengers will board. This means that there is no possibility of renting just one cabin (as with cruise ships ).
This rental model offers complete privacy, greater flexibility in planning the route and the opportunity to create the atmosphere and dynamics of the trip yourself. If you are traveling in a smaller group, you can always share the costs with friends or family and thus enjoy a private charter adventure at an affordable price.
Yes, the prices published on our website are calculated for a period of one week, with a typical schedule from Saturday afternoon ( check-in ) to the following Saturday morning ( check-out ). This model is standard in the charter industry and allows for optimal organization of logistics, cleaning and crew and client shifts.
If you need a shorter or longer rental, we are flexible and can offer you alternatives in the pre- and post-season.
The basic charter price includes: boat rental for the specified period, fully equipped kitchen and cabins with sheets and towels, standard navigation and safety equipment, final technical inspection, port fees for the first and last night (in the base marina), auxiliary boat (tender), and support from us before and during the trip.
The price does not include: fuel (paid according to actual consumption), final cleaning (usually charged as a fixed amount on site), tourist tax per person/day (varies by country), skipper, hostess or chef if requested, food and drinks (unless a package has been agreed), additional equipment (SUP boards , Wi-Fi , safety net, etc.), as well as port fees outside the base marina.
The cost of fuel depends on the type of boat and how much the engine will be used. For sailboats and catamarans , the cost usually ranges from 100 to 200 euros for a whole week, if sails are used most of the time. For motor boats, the cost is significantly higher. The fuel consumed is calculated upon return to the boat, based on the actual tank capacity .
The cost of overnight stay in a port varies depending on the size of the boat, the season and the location. On average, prices range from 50 to 250 euros per night. Catamarans often charge a higher fee. Staying in the base marina for the first and last night is usually included in the charter price. In Greece, docking in city ports is usually free of charge, but in some cities there is a charge of 10-20 euros per night.
Yes, all the boats we offer are fully insured . As a guarantee for conscientious use, the client leaves a deposit (in the form of blocking a credit card), which is returned if there is no damage. It is also possible to pay insurance that fully or partially replaces the deposit (damage waiver).
The skipper is responsible for the navigation and safety of the ship, and the hostess takes care of preparing meals and maintaining the common areas. These services are charged additionally and must be booked in advance. Meals for the crew (skipper/hostess) are your responsibility. These services allow you to completely relax and make the most of your vacation.
The price of mandatory and additional services that the client wants to add to the reservation is calculated based on the price of the boat. Mandatory services such as final cleaning, transit log , starter pack , handling fees or consumables are always required and vary by ship and area.
Additional services (sometimes called extra services – mandatory or optional) are listed on the page for each ship. They are usually paid on site, in cash. It is advisable to book immediately upon confirmation of the reservation, especially if it is a skipper or hostess – to check availability. Certain services are limited by availability (for example: early check-in , gennaker / spinnaker , SUP board ), so it is necessary to request confirmation from the charter company in advance.
An important additional service is also the outboard engine for the tender – it is usually not included in the price and is charged from 80 to 150 euros per week, depending on the engine power. Bed linen and towels can be included in the mandatory package or paid additionally (approximately 15–30 euros per person). It depends from boat to boat.
For luxury vessels, such as yachts or very large catamarans (over 25,000 euros per week), the skipper or crew (skipper and hostess/cook) are usually included in the price. For these vessels, an APA – Advance Charter is provided. Provisioning Allowance (advance purchase).
This is an amount paid in advance and serves to cover expenses during the rental: food for passengers, fuel, port and marina costs, etc. It usually amounts to 25 to 35% of the price of the boat.
In addition, there may be other costs such as final cleaning, tender engine, etc. Sometimes the skipper and hostess are mandatory, but are not included in the price and are paid at check-in , usually in cash. For such reservations, it is possible to obtain information in advance about the crew profile, a suggested menu, a possible tour, etc.
A typical sailing trip includes an island tour or coastal navigation in the selected region, visiting the most beautiful beaches, bays and ports.
If a skipper is hired, the route is planned together in accordance with the wishes of the clients, but within the framework of safety conditions and weather conditions.
The planned route is always considered indicative and may change during the week, depending on wind, sea or safety reasons. On average, for a 7-day sailing, about 100 nautical miles or about 3 hours of sailing per day are foreseen. The marinas where the ships are stationed are an excellent starting point and allow you to reach the first destination on the first day.
The vacation begins with check-in on Saturday afternoon when you board the ship. The first evening is usually spent in the marina . On Sunday morning, after breakfast, the ship sets off according to the agreed route.
Each day, it usually sails for 2–3 hours, and then anchors in a bay or docks in another place. During the day, you can swim, snorkel , relax, have lunch on the ship, and in the evening, take a walk on land or visit a restaurant.
On the last evening (Friday), you return to the base marina, and on Saturday morning, check-out is done .
Each ship has a maximum number of berths, which includes berths in the cabins and any berths in the dayroom. Most often there are double cabins (with one or two separate beds) and smaller forward cabins for the crew. The number of bathrooms may not correspond to the number of cabins. On newer models, each cabin has its own bathroom, but this is not always the rule. When booking a skipper or hostess, it is necessary to book a cabin and, if possible, a separate bathroom for them.
Yes, all ships are equipped with a kitchen that includes a refrigerator, sink, gas stove, pots and utensils. Breakfast and lunch are usually prepared on board, while dinner can be eaten on land.
You can do your own shopping at the supermarket near the marina or order online. provisioning (delivered to the ship). It is advisable to purchase non-perishable food, small packages, spices and water. Refrigerators on ships are small and are not intended for storing food for more than 1-2 days.
Instead of a suitcase, it is best to bring a foldable bag. Space is limited and suitcases are difficult to store.
Clothing should be light and practical: swimsuits, shorts, T-shirts, sweatshirts , a wind/water jacket, sandals or shoes with white soles, a hat and sunglasses. Also bring enough towels, personal cosmetics and sunscreen.
Yes, but it depends on the equipment of the boat. A boat with a generator allows for uninterrupted charging. If the boat has an inverter , devices can be charged while the engine is running. Without a generator or inverter , power is only available while you are connected to the marina.
Toilets are usually pump-operated (manual or electric) rather than a standard flush. The sink uses water from a tank. Saving water is important because the amount is limited. Some ships have a shower in the toilet, others have an external shower on deck. A pump is used to pump the water to the floor.
Each boat is provided with 24/7 support contacts. If there is a breakdown or emergency, call the VHF channel and inform the charter company. They will send help as soon as possible.
Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, mosquito repellent cream or spray, and rubber shoes. Children usually enjoy sailing – they can swim, draw, play. We recommend a boat with a shade (bimini) and short sailings with interesting destinations. It is possible to install a safety net for small children (for an additional fee).
In most cases, small to medium-sized pets are allowed for an additional fee (approximately 150–200 euros or double the cleaning fee). It is necessary to announce the presence of an animal in advance and request confirmation from the charter company. It is possible to order a safety net to increase the safety of the pet.
