FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The choice of boat depends on what type of experience you are looking for and who you are traveling with. If you are a lover of adventure, nature and real sailing, then a classic sailing boat ( sailing) boat ) is the perfect choice. It offers an authentic experience at sea, with the possibility of sailing with the wind, where navigation becomes part of the adventure.
Catamarans , on the other hand, are an excellent choice for families or groups of friends looking for comfort, stability and more space. With two hulls and a large deck, they offer greater privacy between cabins and are suitable for peaceful enjoyment of the bays and long stays at anchor.
If you prefer tradition with a touch of luxury, gullets are a wonderful choice. They are wooden ships, usually with a crew, suitable for a relaxed holiday with meals, a homely atmosphere and a comfortable journey through the bays.
For those who want maximum comfort and high-level service, luxury yachts offer a personalized experience, a fully dedicated crew and all modern amenities. They are suitable for corporate events, celebrations or simply for a carefree luxury holiday at sea.
If you plan to operate the boat yourself, you will need a valid boat operator’s license, appropriate to the type and size of the boat. This license must be recognized by the country where the charter takes place. In most cases, this means an international license (e.g. ICC – International Certificate of Competence ), along with a VHF radio certificate.
In case you do not have a license or do not want to worry about navigation, we can provide you with a professional skipper . He is trained to take care of the safety, navigation and management of the boat, while you enjoy yourself without worries.
Currently, all the ships we offer through KARPASAILING are rented as a whole – i.e. the entire ship is at your disposal, regardless of how many passengers will board. This means that there is no possibility of renting just one cabin (as with cruise ships ).
This rental model offers complete privacy, greater flexibility in planning the route and the opportunity to create the atmosphere and dynamics of the trip yourself. If you are traveling in a smaller group, you can always share the costs with friends or family and thus enjoy a private charter adventure at an affordable price.
The skipper is responsible for the navigation and safety of the ship, and the hostess takes care of preparing meals and maintaining the common areas. These services are charged additionally and must be booked in advance. Meals for the crew (skipper/hostess) are your responsibility. These services allow you to completely relax and make the most of your vacation.
Toilets are usually pump-operated (manual or electric) rather than a standard flush. The sink uses water from a tank. Saving water is important because the amount is limited. Some ships have a shower in the toilet, others have an external shower on deck. A pump is used to pump the water to the floor.
